Frequently Asked Questions

I AM VISITING FOR THE FIRST TIME, WHERE DO I TAKE MY KIDS?
Sundays or Wednesdays, visitors check-in children on the First Floor of the Children’s Building (3-story Building). Greeted with a warm welcome you will be escorted to where your child(ren) will be dropped off and picked up.
I WANT TO BE A VOLUNTEER, WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR GETTING INVOLVED?
First, volunteers have to be members of the church. Next, set up an appointment with our Children’s Director, Kelly Worley, to discuss service opportunities and the expectations. A background check is also required for all volunteers over eighteen years of age.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE FOR CHILDREN ON SUNDAYS AND WHEN?
We provide age graded ministries at 9:20 and 10:40 a.m. Both hours include a rotation schedule that includes Family Life Groups (classroom Bible study), Children’s Church, and G2 Kids’ Worship (worship music emphasis).
WHAT IS THE PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY FOR CHILDREN AT FIRST MIDDLEBURG?
Age appropriate Bible study drives the programming and activities of the ministry. The ministry goals are teaching and modeling the value of knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE FOR CHILDREN ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AND WHEN?
During the school year we offer the AWANA program for kids up through 4th grade on the Second Floor. 5th and 6th graders have a specialized worship service on the Third Floor. Both ministries go from 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
HOW DO I KNOW MY CHILD IS READY to BE BAPTIZED?
Just like any aged person, if a child has realized his/her sinfulness is why Jesus died on the cross and the child has chosen, in the best way he/she knows how to become a follower of Jesus, then he/she is ready; but not until then.
HOW DOES ONE BECOME A CHRISTIAN?
Based on the Bible: (1) Be aware that personal sinfulness separates you from God.
(2) Believe that the only way to a relationship with God is Jesus’ sacrificial payment on the cross.
(3) Choose to believe the only acceptable payment for sin is Jesus.
MY CHILD IS ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT BEING A CHRISTIAN, WHAT DO I DO?
Ask open ended questions prompting an answer in his/her own words. Explain the meaning of being a Christian using Romans 10:9; confessing with the mouth and believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead for our sins.
ARE WORSHIP SERVICES ON SUNDAYS FAMILY FRIENDLY?
Yes! Families are encouraged to worship together, then attend age appropriate classes which are offered at 9:20 or 10:40 a.m. Nursery/preschool is provided at all three services for kids that are not quite ready to worship in a large group with the family.
WHERE DO I PARK?
The north parking lot adjacent to Parsonage Street, nearest to the Children’s Building, has designated parking convenient for families who are guests.
DO YOU HAVE A MAP OF THE CAMPUS?
Yes! Click here to check it out.
